Justina MacNeil is currently a Visual Media Arts student at Emerson College. She began her journey as a Television-Radio/Theater Studies double major at Ithaca College in 2019, but after missing the city, she transferred after her freshman year. Justina has worked in directing, producing, acting, screenwriting, and production design, all of which she has truly enjoyed.
Justina’s writing has been featured on the Six Page Scripts podcast for her screenplay Finding Bigfoot (which is currently in post-production!). Her writing has also appeared on Emerson Channel’s late night show Closing Time ,where Justina appears as both a writer and a player.
Before getting into production, Justina spent most of her time performing. She has worked on stations such as the Voice of Ithaca College, WECB, and WERS as both a DJ and a member of the music staff. Justina also has a longstanding background with theater, appearing in productions such as A Midsummer Nights Dream, Godspell, and Rocky Horror Picture Show. Though it was the theater that eventually led her to pursue a career in the arts, Justina thanks her 10 years of competitive dance experience for her love of the field (and her love of fake eyelashes).
While her crafting skills are normally utilized for production design purposes, such as on Third Bird Comedy, Justina also enjoys costuming and has spent a significant amount of free time making elaborate ballgowns.
Other fun Justina hobbies include:
- Baking a mean chocolate lava cake
- Playing in one of her many Dungeons & Dragons campaigns
- Putting her hair through all different colored dyes
